More than most of us were taught to see
You know the story. A son takes his inheritance, leaves home, and wastes everything in a far country. Hungry and alone among the pigs, he turns for home. A father runs to meet him.
But this story holds more than most of us were taught to see.
It begins at a Sabbath dinner table, where every eye is on Jesus. It follows a shepherd into the wilderness and a woman sweeping her house by lamplight. The parable ends at a feast, with the music playing and an older brother standing outside. Our story goes on. The family keeps widening until all things are made new.
And you are included.
